We have a Japanese Customer Service role open to provide customer support for a Japan based EC company. The role would involve:
- Japanese customer service by email is the main task. Respond to customer questions, issues, problems and provide a great customer experience.
- Japanese customer service by phone (infrequent)
- Most of our team are native level Japanese speakers however proficiency in English is highly preferred as there are also English speaking team members and many documents etc are also in English.
- Because of this there may at times be some Japanese/English translation work (e.g. explain a customer issue into English in an email)
Optional (but preferred)
- Previous email customer service experience and understand the main points about giving good customer service.
- Able to use search engines adeptly to find relvant businesses to contact or find relevant information. Can also contact websites by email.
- Able to contact delivery companies regarding customer deliveries by email and occasionally by phone (infrequent)
- Any customer order management and/or inventory management is very welcome.
Later there may also be other various operational and admin tasks for the online business.
- Live close to Tokyo
Other requirements/Skills:
- Native Japanese
- English (Email, chat ect)
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Emails, basic familiarity using spreadsheets etc
- Competence with search engines and able to find various resources and websites.
- Organisational skills
- Shows initiative and being proactive. (Seek to do things better. If you notice something is wrong or could be done better, take initiative to fix it or raise the issue)
- Dont just do the job but seek to do it well and to a high standard (without being needed to ask to).
- Offer ideas/suggestions
- Can be very reliable and dependable to the rest of the team and without the need for much supervision
Other requirements:
- Can work during Japan business hours (Important)
Availability
Please note that this is a part time job. The hours will vary and depend on customer email volume. Initially it would roughly be between 15-20 hrs a week.
We are looking to hire good people for the long term.
