- check all available suppliers, first limit search to Hiroshima Prefecture [target around 50 companies/ associations]
*when calling/contact, introduce of representative of import/export trading company. You are doing market research, searching for supplier to supply oyster to market of Russia, Ukraine and other countries. Import/Export company you are working for is interested in long-term relationship and big volumes of stable supply. You are trying to find a supplier who will be nice and reliable. If we decide to work together, first step will be first sample shipment of around 200kg.
- shortlist ones who are open and willing to work, reply fast and business oriented [maybe around 10-30]
- choose ones who can potentially work with big volumes and assortment of oyster (more than 2 varieties and volumes >2000kg/month) [maybe 3-5 companies/suppliers]
- individually speak with each shortlisted supplier and understand its assortment, price, shipping pattern, contract required, payment (ex. my image is: producer ship in the morning by Yamato Takyubin from Hiroshima in frozen box -> in the evening, my warehouse in Narita receive)
